This map only gives rough impression about area and location. Andong (安東) was renamed to Dandong (丹東) on 20 January 1965.

1st stamp issue (Kerr 9.1-3, Yang NE233-235):

Overprint: “Temporarily Used for” and Surcharged (“暫作” 改值郵票)
Print: Hand-overprinted with wooden chop
Currency: Northeast Currency (東北幣)

Remarks:
– This set is a bit special. Used covers may exist, but all I saw looks philatelic or forged / manipulated. As this set is widely accepted as part of the Liberated Area (listed in all major catalogs), I will list it here with the thoughts in my mind, it’s a possible not issued / bogus set.

– Kerr 9.7-10 will be listed together with the local issue for the Andong Provincial Post Administration (安東省郵政管理局) started after the 2nd Liberation in 1947 (October 10).
