Remarks:
– All shown sets exists (at least one stamp of each set) genuine used on domestic covers.
– The reason for a parallel existence of a black and violet overprint I can’t explain.
Not shown:
– Kerr 69.1-4: Set is unknown to be genuine used, possible not issued / bogus
– Kerr 69.26-27: Set is unknown to be genuine used, possible not issued / bogus
– Kerr 69.28-37: Set is unknown to be genuine used, possible not issued / bogus. A small comment, this set possible does not exists at all. Kerr shows two different chops for set 69.5-15 (T121) and 69.28-37 (T123A, Kerr mixed up the illustrations, please refer here to page 33 of his catalog). Chan shows in his catalog volume 2 at page 829/830 (2000 edition) with MONJ.7B. and MONJ.7E. two identical overprints and invent a story one was made by a rubber chop and one was made by a wooden chop. So we would have two different chops but an absolut identical design, this scenario is unlikely possible. Status quo today: a.) Kerr made a mistake and this set does not exists, or b.) set exists, but me and anyone I know never got a chance to see a scan of these stamps. If anyone can help to solve this mystery I would be very grateful to receive more information! 🙂
